About Junyong Pak

As a coach:

Coupling over 25 years of competitive racing and a vast array of cross-disciplinary experiences with an extremely analytical and meticulous engineering mind, Junyong has been refining and developing his own unique style of fitness—one based on highly functional results with purpose. His training method combines technology and the scientific process with a deep, fundamental understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics towards the goal of achieving maximum fitness potential as quickly, safely, and efficiently as possible. Junyong employs a top-down approach and philosophy to coaching with the ultimate goal of developing independent athletes who may one day learn to effectively coach themselves. This is accomplished by instilling the fundamentals, making comprehensible parallels, and explaining the justifications behind key workouts and exercises. It is easy enough to copy, paste, and reiterate something found on the internet. The best coaches however are going to take the steps to carefully, masterfully, and contextually balance these prescriptive workouts within the construct of a greater, periodized plan with an athlete’s abilities, limitations, and goals in mind. Sustainability, independence, intelligence--these are the underlying themes to the training philosophy that you can expect to hear resonate loudly under the care of Fast Functional Fitness.

Junyong holds a USA Track & Field Level 1 Coaching certification and served as interim coach for Wicked Running Club - Fall 2015.
