The key to achieving maximum fitness potential in most endurance sports is being able to delicately balance the volume and intensity of work against an athlete’s motivation and capacity in a happy and sustainable manner. These factors typically influence and limit each other in inverse proportions. But with a willingness to succeed and accompanied by the right environment, one can break through previously imposed limits in all of these aspects simultaneously and reach his or her peak performance, fast… and then be able to stay there.

If you're a motivated runner or obstacle course racing athlete seeking to become the best possible version of yourself but not quite certain of the path to getting there, Junyong can help show you the way. He is an accomplished engineer and athlete with a vast array of knowledge and experience pertaining to competitive endurance sports. His program focuses not just on great functional exercises and best practices to address physical needs, but the proper mental approach to make those workouts happen consistently, and the underlying training philosophy to tie the two together.

What you can expect: A program’s structure can span a wide range of customization and attention level depending on the individual’s needs and wants. This could mean anything from specific day-to-day instruction for those athletes who require regimented structure, to something more generalized for those who are experienced and can execute workouts independently with minimal direction. Others yet may require more flexible and dynamic programming due to complicated life schedules. Whatever the demand, Junyong will ensure that the group of athletes under his immediate care remains very small and intimate, and that no one is force-fed a cookie-cutter program that does not match his/her needs both as an athlete and human being. 

Program Requirements:

  • At minimum 1 year of history in endurance sports and a willingness to invest reasonable funds toward adequate nutrition and gear to support training, in-line with the program’s demands.
  • Online training log that you should keep reasonably up-to-date.
  • You must be self-motivated and eager to improve. 


Traveling Coach

Junyong can be hired to come race alongside you, or put on a customized group or individual training session lasting as long as you wish in preparation for whatever the event may be.

One-time Consultations

Whether it be hammering out fine execution details and logistics for a complex event such as World's Toughest Mudder, or crafting a bulk training plan for your first Boston Marathon or Spartan Race, that can be accomplished in as many individual sessions as needed.
